Meaning of Alpha in the Oracle of the Triad

The very first card of this tarot, the card named Alpha is the one that expresses the starting point of all things. The beginning of every event, since everything does indeed have a starting point. Without really defining a period, or a particular moment in the course of a destiny, it announces to the querent that they are about to embark on a new cycle in their life, a new situation that should move them forward towards a goal they have set for themselves. The Oracle of the Triad is a very specific divinatory tarot, which draws its influences from more traditional decks such as the famous Tarot of Marseille, as well as from notions of astrology and numerology. Thus the Alpha card embodies the number 1, the letter A, and the month of January. It is therefore very closely linked to those born under the signs of Capricorn and Aquarius. Designed by a Freemason, the Oracle of the Triad uses a great many codes in the depiction of its cards, and this one demonstrates it openly by presenting us, in close-up, with the letter A, followed by an Arabic sign named Alif, which represents the number 1, the supreme embodiment of all unity. At the top of the card, just above the letter A, is the Greek letter alpha, which symbolises change, or the passage from nothingness to something living and substantial, or more simply from the figure 0 to the number 1.

During a divinatory reading, the Alpha card is positive for the querent, since it announces a fresh start that inevitably leads them onto the path of their destiny.
