Meaning of Isolation in the Oracle of the Triad

The second blade of this tarot inspired by Greek mythology, and already we come across a card with a negative leaning, especially if it appears alongside certain other blades. It indeed announces to the querent a period filled with disillusionment of all kinds, where gloom and melancholy will lead the dance, to such an extent that the latter will prefer to shut themselves away in complete solitude. It is therefore alone and face to face with themselves that they will confront the trials that will follow one another in the weeks ahead on their destiny. They will also take the opportunity to take stock of their life, their journey up to today, and their aspirations to brighten their future as best they can.

The Oracle of the Triad is heavily influenced by the notions of numerology and astrology, which it uses to make predictions. This is why its cards are very often depicted with symbols and other esoteric signs. Moreover, the Isolation blade, which is associated with the month of February and with the signs of Aquarius and Pisces, represents an iron cage reminiscent of a prison cell. Set against a very dark background, this cage is yellow, the colour of sulphur, the supreme embodiment of alchemy. This same cage is split into 2 identical parts by a horizontal line, like a mirror effect which itself represents the duality of all things, and therefore the number 2.

During a divinatory reading, the Isolation blade is therefore not the bearer of very good news, since it speaks of confining the querent who must face a rather dark period. All the more so if the card were to sit alongside that of the Lie, Penance or Illusion.
