Meaning of Necessity in the Oracle of the Triad

Mainly negative for the querent in the messages it conveys, this card could just as well have been named Fate, so closely is it tied to a series of events that they will only be able to endure with more or less patience. It is therefore unfavourable to them, predicting some upheavals with rather negative consequences on their destiny, except for one very specific point: the single querent may make an encounter that will reverse their love situation. For the rest, it will be nothing but a string of problems, more or less unpleasant, which they will have to overcome by avoiding losing their temper, so as not to grant them too much importance.

The Necessity card mainly depicts a spinning wheel for wool, on a mauve background, often associated with the mysteries surrounding esotericism. On the golden circle of this wheel are inscribed the words Triata and Fata, which, once translated, evoke the Fatal Triad, those 3 female Deities named the Parcae, who in Roman mythology embody human destiny, from arrival on earth until death. Often depicted with the appearance of somewhat malevolent witches, these Parcae each have a name, inscribed in ancient Greek as well as in Latin, within and around the circle of the wheel. As suggested on the card, the first of these Parcae weaves the birth of every human being, the second spins the length of their existence, while the third cuts clean the thread of their life. This makes it one of the most occult cards of this Oracle. Finally, it is associated with the astrological sign of Virgo, and with the number 35, which expresses karmic liberation within the cosmic order in numerology.

During a divinatory reading, the Necessity card therefore brings announcements that will come to muddle the more or less near destiny of the querent. It may worry them, then make them somewhat nervous and impatient; however, only reflection and discernment will be of great use to them in managing these coming crisis situations as best they can.
