Meaning of Protection in the Oracle of the Triad

Thanks to this card, we witness the return of the truly positive cards to the querent during a reading. If it is so favourable to them, it is because it announces that they are now guided by their lucky star, or that they are now blessed by the Gods, depending on our degree of belief in spiritual Faith. In any case, the querent will find themselves protected in all circumstances in the days and weeks to come, which means that everything they plan to undertake will be crowned with a certain success. The doubts and trials to be endured are therefore finally over; it is high time to start flourishing again.

The Protection card has many connotations with Greek mythology, but also with certain Masonic codes, themselves closely linked to the Christian religion. Thus, on the card we see a blue Chi-Rho, called the monogram of Christ, for its shape recalling the first 2 letters associated with the name of the Son of God in ancient Greek. On either side of this Chi-Rho are the letters designating the Alpha and the Omega, or more precisely, the beginning and the end of all things. Finally, the Greek words Salus and Nike sit at the top and bottom of the card, and symbolise the Holy Saviour and Victory. The card is also linked to the astrological sign of Libra, embodying protection through justice, and to the number 28, which represents universal receptivity in numerology.

During a divinatory reading, the Protection card is therefore as salutary as it is benevolent in the messages it brings to the querent. It indeed reveals that the road is clear, and that they can therefore emancipate themselves as they wish, for the troubles of the past are now far behind them. It encourages them to fly off towards new adventures, for they are now under the watchful eye of a Divine protection.
