Meaning of the Couple in Cupid’s Oracle of Love

When 2 people take a liking to each other, they can no longer do without one another. So much so that forced separations of a few hours are true heartbreaks, which they make up for by sending each other a multitude of messages and phone calls. Already, the 2 lovers are as one, so much do their bodies and souls blend and complement each other perfectly. This is the reason why, very quickly, these 2 lovebirds are going to move in together and thus share as many everyday moments as possible, right down to the most intimate things there are.

They then become what is called a couple. Not yet united by the official ties of an engagement or a marriage, but bound to each other by a moral “contract” in which the sharing of everything arising from their union is imaginarily stipulated. The best of it, because there is indeed happiness to be shared with the person you love, as well as the worst, because the daily grind leads some couples to separate afterwards, if a weariness settles in between them. To depict life as a couple, this card shows us one of the most intimate spaces there is in a living space, the shower room.

And more precisely, the shelf  located above the washbasin, where a single glass with 2 toothbrushes rests. In front of navy blue tiles, which symbolize the freshness of this relationship, and next to a tube of toothpaste as pink as love, these 2 toothbrushes, side by side, symbolize the 2 partners. Thus, these 2 lovers who therefore form a couple are complementary like the Ying and the Yang, in their union as in their splits, everything will depend on the state of mind of the moment. This card is linked to the number 20, from which the figure 2 emerges, which remains the symbol of every union, but also of every duality between 2 people.
