Meaning of the Meeting in Cupid’s Oracle of Love

This, then, is the opening card of this Oracle devoted entirely to love. As we all know, loving is the strongest feeling that each of us carries deep inside, so much so that it kindles in us a singular flame which makes us stronger, braver and above all far better as human beings. But love is very hard to handle day after day within our respective lives, and so it happens that it can hurt very badly, or even destroy us.

But since we cannot do without it, we keep chasing after it, so that it may embrace us and burn us with all its fires. Every love begins with a meeting between two beings who, at first, come to appreciate one another, and end up taking a liking to each other to the point of no longer being able to part. On this very first card of Cupid’s Oracle, the meeting is embodied by 2 birds perched side by side on the back of a public bench. All around them there is nothing but spring greenery and flowers in the middle of a vast natural expanse.

So they are alone in the world, circling one another, discovering each other, taking a liking to each other, all while getting acquainted. This is the moment when their hearts can catch fire, after passing through feelings of doubt, then joy, but also through the fits of laughter that only two people falling in love can understand. It is the card so dreamed of by single people, a very positive one, even though it also has its unexpected sides. It is linked to the number 1, which embodies the beginning of all things.
