Meaning of Lie in the Oracle of the Triad

This is once again a negative card of this divinatory Oracle. Given its name, it inspires nothing good in the querent when it appears during a reading, since it foretells only deceit, slander and betrayal. By making them understand that they cannot trust one or several people around them, the Lie card urges them to sort through their relationships, so as to discover who those are who “stab” them as soon as their back is turned. By forcing them to be wary in this way, the Lie card plunges the querent into a certain vigilance that is far from fostering exchanges in friendships, and which in some people can turn into genuine paranoia.

The Oracle of the Triad is influenced by Greek mythology, but not only that, since on some of these cards we find signs or symbols linked to astrology, numerology and Freemasonry. But the Lie card, which is linked to the number 4 and to the astrological signs Aries and Taurus, is nonetheless not filled with as much symbolism as many others belonging to this Oracle. It actually depicts only a rather grim drawing, where a figure bears a damaged eye, as if to show us that their vision of things is distorted, and a scar across the throat, which warns us of the dangers of uttering deceitful words. From their shadow also springs a forked tongue that speaks for itself.

During a divinatory reading, the Lie card is therefore necessarily negative for the person concerned. It indeed tells them that someone around them is hiding their true intentions, and that this person may soon be harmful to them in many areas. It should be noted that many other cards associated with this one can inform the querent about the exact nature of its treacherous predictions.
