Meaning of the 7 of Hearts in Cartomancy

It is a somewhat special card, because it warns the querent of a certain fallow period to come in their life. It speaks of the indecisiveness they will soon display, and above all of the lack of confidence they inflict upon themselves. But it is not negative, as it merely serves to warn them, and rather encourages them to look toward the future. The number 7 is the number of the union of opposites. It results from the odd 3 and the even 4, and therefore symbolises, for example, the union between man and woman, day and night, or black and white.

In cartomancy, the suit of Hearts evokes friendly relationships, family traditions and amorous sensitivities. It therefore tells us about the emotions felt when in contact with the people around us. Within this most spiritual of suits, the N°7 settles on our moments of dissatisfaction, and pushes us to seek out a better situation.

During a divinatory reading, the card of the 7 of Hearts therefore announces a certain phase made of doubts and pessimism within our innermost self, and urges us to look toward the future to emerge from it stronger. It asks us to ask ourselves the real questions, those that will make us move forward in our destiny rather than retreat into a certain past. The 7 of Hearts is thus a somewhat hazy card, and certainly very easily influenced by the other cards with which it will be associated. Of course, surrounded by Spades cards, and notably the 3, the 10 and the Jack, the predictions of the 7 of Hearts will not be favourable to overcoming the inner crisis currently shaking us.
