Meaning of the Initiation in the Oracle of the Triad
Card No. 34
This is certainly the most complex card in this Oracle, as its imagery and the messages it offers the querent remain full of mystery. Although it is therefore somewhat difficult to decipher, what it reveals is favourable to them. If it is so positive, it is because it encourages them to develop even more knowledge, and to show great intellect in the circumstances to come on their path. It promises them no help, encouragement or ease, but on the contrary pushes them to show discernment and intellectual skill in order to fulfil their ambitions on their own, and ultimately reach the goals they have set for themselves.
The Initiation card looks very chaotic at first glance, and it is rather hard to find your bearings when you try to decipher it for the first time. The main reason for this is that it is filled with completely illegible inscriptions, and with numerous signs and symbols that maintain the mystery surrounding the transmission of knowledge and of initiation into higher intellectual knowledge. Acute knowledge, of which esotericism and spirituality are of course a part. In the midst of this hand-scrawled jumble stands a hand strikingly resembling the Hand of Fatima, so emblematic and sacred in the Muslim religion. It also reminds us of the hands that the fortune tellers of old delighted in scrutinising in the slightest detail to initiate us into the events to come in our destiny. In the middle of the palm of this hand lies the symbol of the open eye, so dear to Freemasonry for designating God. Finally, this card is linked to the astrological sign of Leo, and to the number 34, which symbolises the power of achievement of the human being in numerology.
During a divinatory reading, the Intuition card serves more as a guide than anything else. It seeks to bring the querent to truly become aware of one very specific fact, so that they use reason to steer it as favourably as possible towards their own destiny. This makes it a highly spiritual card.
