On each of the 4 directions offered, this compass rose is also distinguished by the inscription of each of the corresponding winds, as well as their affiliation with one of the natural elements: Fire, Air, Earth and Water. Below the Drakkar is a square in which the map of a paradisiacal islet is inlaid, seemingly the final destination of this Nordic vessel. Lastly, this card is associated with the astrological signs Virgo and Libra, and is linked to the number 36, which symbolizes thought-word-action in numerology.

During a divinatory reading, the Journey card tips off the querent so that they may take the steps necessary and appropriate to the situation at hand. The card is closely related to the notion of movement, even of flight, and this in every area of our daily lives.
