The Meaning of Time in the Triade Oracle

This is another neutral card in this Oracle, one that can deliver negative or positive announcements to the querent, depending on the other cards it is paired with during the reading. But whether it is favourable to them or not, this card holds no great power. Its predictions will therefore have only little impact on their destiny. The Time card evokes the cycle of a life, with its ups and downs. It expresses the waiting one must sometimes submit to in order to bring a project to fruition, the time that the realisation of that same project may take, but also time passing at a dizzying speed, in perpetual motion throughout a lifetime.

The Time card is filled with symbols linked to Greek mythology, to astrology, as well as to astronomy. It depicts a large grey frame, hung against a bottle-green background, the interior of which holds these many symbols. First of all, two circles of different sizes can be clearly distinguished. The first is an hourly dial displaying its 12 hours, and the second is a zodiacal dial containing the 12 planets that belong to it. Along the entire length of this rectangle is engraved the sigil of the planet Saturn, which represents eternity in Roman mythology, while lower than this sits the calligraphy of the word Cronos, who is the God of time in Greek mythology. The Time card is associated with the astrological sign of Libra, but also with the number 45, which expresses humanity’s passage through the evolutions of our world.

During a divinatory reading, the Time card announces events in terms of their duration, whether they are more or less long, and the perpetual movement of time. It will therefore speak of waiting, of duration or of a fleeting passage, and the tenor of its message will be influenced by all the other cards surrounding it.
