Meaning of the Ace of Scimitars in the Persian Tarot

Here is a rather constraining card that one would prefer not to see appear during our consultation. Indeed, it announces only delays and unforeseen events, when it is not a matter of cancellations or serious complications to come in our professional schedule, as well as in our personal life. It thus reveals itself to be the bearer of bad news in many areas for the querent, and is moreover often considered by many to be the card embodying bad luck.

One then understands better why it is so dreaded, like a Spades card in cartomancy. There are but few completely negative cards within the Persian Tarot devised by Mrs Indira, and the Ace of Scimitars is certainly the main representative of them, given the value of the Aces within the reading. Far from the oriental depictions influenced by the tales of the Thousand and One Nights drawn on the other cards, this one shows us only a thick sabre in close-up, surrounded by signs of the Spade, on a dull grey background, which symbolises the notions of sadness and melancholy.

During a divinatory reading, one must therefore beware of the Ace of Scimitars, for it will announce nothing but damage and unfavourable unforeseen events for the querent’s coming days. The latter will nonetheless have to make do with it, for the card only predicts events that are written within their karma. The only slight comfort is that the revelations of the Ace of Scimitars do not run over a long period.
