Meaning of the Break-up in the Persian Tarot

This card is the one linked to disagreements of all kinds, to conflicts, quarrels and other disputes that can lead to a separation. Whether in the realm of the emotional or that of a professional order. it announces to all a break between 2 people. It may be a growing apart over a more or less long term, or a definitive separation that it reveals to us; in any case, even if it can sometimes set free, it inevitably causes sorrow and pain when it happens to us.

The Persian Tarot is supposed to be based on the spirituality proper to Buddhist and Hindu values, but in the present case, one can say that this card is universal and that it is in no way mystical or spiritual, so much do separations, like encounters, affect everyone, whatever the religion or nationality of the people concerned. The Break-up Card therefore depicts a couple formed by a man and a woman, side by side but back to back, whose sad gazes, now embittered, are turned in opposite directions. The presence around them of the Hearts and Clubs signs indicates to us that they have much to lose at this moment in terms of luck and love.

During a divinatory reading, the Break-up Card is therefore, in the great majority of cases, negative for the querent. For it is a sign of failure in their professional collaboration or in their loving union with their partner. So much so that it announces to them that it is time to cut ties, in order to make official the end of a partnership or a divorce. This situation will certainly be painful to go through for both parties, but it often has the benefit of being able at last to relieve, even set free, these latter, or at the very least, one of the 2 people.
