Meaning of the Encounter in the Persian Tarot

The Encounter Card, also called Fidelity depending on the editions, is the one that covers for us all the possible opportunities to see our personal and professional hopes come true. It tells us that our relationships with those close to us are at their very best and that we are very likely to make new encounters soon. Whether romantic encounters or ones more geared towards collaborative exchanges between partners within a partnership, the card reveals to us that we are going to gain a new friend, lover or associate.

Within the Indira Persian Tarot, which is based on Indian folklore and the mystical traditions tied to Hinduism, this card is the one that represents every possible and imaginable opening. The one that opens all doors for us and urges us to move forward, by declaring our love to the chosen one of our heart, or by proposing a partnership to a colleague, for example. The drawing depicted on it shows us precisely a fine-looking man courting a Lady. One senses a touch of shyness in the features of his face, while the woman seems as surprised as she is delighted by this sudden declaration. The Clubs and Hearts signs shown at their feet embody the notions of love and luck that they will soon be able to share, just the 2 of them.

During a divinatory reading, the Encounter Card announces to us upcoming new emotional bonds that we are going to develop  with a freshly met person. But not only that, for these bonds may also be of a professional nature, during a partnership between colleagues. This card is not as innocuous as it seems, for it reveals the arrival of providential help for the querent so that they can fulfil their desires and wishes.
