Meaning of the House in the Persian Tarot

Also called the Palace depending on the edition, the House Card is one of the most serene and restful among the announcements predicted by this tarot. It evokes of course the home, “home sweet home”, but also the affectionate bonds within a family. A synonym of peace and of a harmonious life, this card also represents our affective feelings towards others, whether they be friendly or of a romantic nature. From a more administrative point of view, it evokes the real estate and the inheritances acquired over time by several generations of the same family.

It holds its importance within the Indira Persian Tarot, since the latter is tied to traditional Hindu values, which extol family life and, above all, the presence within the home of the oldest generations among the youngest. The card depicts a magnificent sultan’s palace enthroned on the banks of a river where its reflection shines in the calm, limpid water. The warm and exotic colours used in the drawing remind us of the folklore particular to India, while the sculpted framing surrounding it brings us back to the warmth of any home interior.
