Meaning of the Illness in the Persian Tarot

It is the very first truly negative card of this tarot, one that indeed heralds nothing good for the querent. It evokes nothing but unease and trouble, whether physical, moral or indeed material, and this time even the emotional and the spiritual side of the person concerned are affected too. It is therefore one of the black cards of the Indira Persian Tarot, the one most apt to speak to us of predictions to come about our destiny with a mystical vision and a spiritual one, proper to the traditional Buddhist and Hindu values.

This card thus embodies a state of weakness that reaches us and destroys us little by little. The drawing depicted on it is that of a person lying on a bed, in a bad way from the sagging features that hollow out their face. Around this figure, 2 women kneeling watch over them with an expression of pity and of dismay. One does not know what ill gnaws at the inside of this weakened being, but whether it be organic or more psychological, one clearly understands that they are in a more than critical situation.

During a divinatory reading, the Illness Card is the one that announces to us that we are going to be held back by health worries, whether benign or, on the contrary, more serious, or else by financial troubles or material ones that may come to harm our professional plans.
