Meaning of the Island in the Persian Tarot

Often ill-perceived or decried unfairly, this card is nonetheless not negative for the querent. Quite the contrary, from the moment that staying alone with one’s thoughts, the better to reflect on the course to give to events, does not cool us off all that much. For it is indeed of a moment of solitude that the Island card speaks to us, to sort through a great deal of reflection and thus be able to find the best possible solutions to untangle a problem.

The Persian Tarot is known for its reputation of being far more spiritual than average, like the Osho Zen tarot, and this card confirms it, so much does it call upon our wisdom of spirit, a little in the manner  of a Buddhist meditation. The card thus depicts an island lost in the middle of the ocean. With its turquoise-blue sea and its lush palm trees, this island is the symbol of heaven on earth, a true haven of peace where feelings of serenity and harmony of living mingle. The island is therefore the ideal place to recharge, to rebuild oneself after a failure, and to take stock of several years of existence within a life led at a hundred miles an hour.

During a divinatory reading, the Island card prompts us to a certain reflection. It pushes us to analyse situations as best we can in order to find the best options. It then announces to us a period of withdrawal, which we will take advantage of to take stock, without being disturbed or distracted by our daily habits. Hence the notion of a certain solitude, the better to reconnect with oneself. It should be noted that the card is also synonymous with travel.
