Meaning of Betrayal in Cupid’s Oracle of Love

There is nothing worse in love than doubting the word of the one we love. Indeed, between the battered credibility of their statements and anguish, our mind wavers and can easily drift towards possessive jealousy. But there is worse, because, by flouting their word, the dear one shatters the trust established within the couple, creating a real crack between the 2 lovers. By adopting this shabby behaviour, based as it is on evasion and lies, they put the solidity of the bonds uniting their relationship to the test. They also endanger everything that has been built by the 2 of them over years and sometimes even without really realising it, too busy attending to their new pastimes.

Whether the betrayal is of a financial or material nature, or rather more oriented towards sexual and emotional infidelity, it does the same harm to the person who suffers it, who finds themselves morally shattered on learning of it. Because toying with a person, all the more so in love, calls everything into question and wreaks utter havoc when the cat is let out of the bag…So of course, everything is forgivable and it can therefore be considered within the couple to try to forget the harm that has been done, but the betrayal will forever leave a bitter taste in the mouth of the one who has suffered it, even if the guilty party tries to make amends.

To depict betrayal and the shock it produces on the person concerned, the card sets us before an individual who, while climbing up a ladder, finds himself shaken by the breaking of one of the rungs, and therefore in a more than vulnerable position. This card is also linked to the number 39, which gives us the figure 3 after reduction and which symbolises the path of the most just in numerology.
