Meaning of the Awakening in the Angel Tarot

This is the 1st card included in the Angel Tarot that imposes a moment of pause on the dreamer along their path. It is a temporary impasse, which will force them to look at everything around them differently. The Awakening Card depicts a young woman whose hair is as long as her gold and auburn gown. In her right hand rises a long scepter that seems to reach a sky filled with clouds, and long, powerful wings extend from her back, reminding us that she is linked to the Archangel Gabriel.
Finally, a crown of fine gold adorns her broad forehead and signals to us that she belongs to a high social rank. But what strikes us most about the imagery of this card is the fact that its orientation is reversed, so that the sky as well as the young guardian angel woman appear facing downward, while the starry night sits at the very top of the card. In a divinatory reading, the Awakening signals a pause on our path and urges us to entertain only reflections that are true to our convictions.
