Card No. 20

This is the last neutral card of the Osho tarot, meaning that it can just as easily be positive as negative in a reading; everything will depend on the cards it is combined with. This arcanum brings us back to the distinctions made between the real and dreams, stressing the fact that everyday reality leads us to doubts, whereas our dreams embody the ideal life where nothing is impossible. It is a powerful encounter for the character of the Fool, who is soon reaching the end of his spiritual journey, because it puts to him the idea that deep within himself lies the strength needed to achieve everything he hopes for.

The Beyond Illusion card depicts the face of awareness in deep meditation, eyes closed but turned towards its own inner world. Superimposed on it is a butterfly with its wings spread wide open towards the outside. It symbolises movement, but above all that which is merely illusion, whereas the face, whose mind is represented by a lotus flower, embodies the reality that lies within each of us.

During a divinatory reading, the Beyond Illusion card encourages us to accept ourselves as we are. Depending on the cards that accompany it, it can also announce that someone in our close circle is not really who they claim to be.
