Meaning of Integration in the Osho Zen Tarot

Card No. 14

The Integration card carries a meaning that is double-edged depending on the card it is paired with during a reading. So, as much as it can symbolise self-renewal, it can just as easily embody the fact of “going round in circles”. When it meets the character of the Fool during this 14th stage of his spiritual journey, Integration warns him of the inner danger that threatens us all at one moment or another: bipolarity, or being so moon-ruled that you can be a completely different person in the evening from the one you were that very morning. So it speaks to him of two “minds” of equal strength that live in each of us and that must at all costs be crystallised in order to bring them to complement one another and become one.

The Integration card depicts, through the face of a child Buddha, everything that symbolises the mystical Union, or more concretely the fusion of opposites. The drawing therefore features many opposites, yet complementary ones, such as the famous Yin & Yang, which embodies the communication of dualities, the sun and the moon, which on their own symbolise darkness and light, or again the eagle  and the swan, which represent power and purity. At the very bottom of the card, however, a serpent bites its own tail. It is the one that represents the negative side that can sometimes emerge from this card.

In a divinatory reading, the Integration card speaks to us above all of alchemy between two people, of complementarity between two minds, which is very positive. Unfortunately, depending on its association with other cards, it will confirm that we are no longer moving forward.
