Meaning of Innocence in the Osho Zen Tarot

This is a very serene card of the Osho Zen tarot. It speaks to us of the feeling of innocence that filled us when we were young and that left us little by little as we grew up. Now that we have reached maturity, the card encourages us to return to those moments when everything was nothing but joy and wonderful alchemies. During his spiritual journey, the character of the Fool has just been somewhat unsettled by the Past Lives card, which is why he truly appreciates this encounter with Innocence. Besides taking him back to his very first emotions, which proved to be truer because they carried no judgement at all, it also encourages him to be able to forgive himself from time to time when he strays even slightly from his guiding line.

The Innocence card depicts an old sage with a white beard, deep in contemplation of a praying mantis that he holds upright in his hand. His smile is blissful, like that of a child discovering the world of nature along with its wonderful and unsettling curiosities, while joy and serenity spread all around him, in the shape and the fragrance of magnificent pink flowers. Here we are witnessing a moment of grace.

In a divinatory reading, the Innocence card urges us always to learn a little more from each of the situations we meet in our daily lives. And that nothing is worth as much as knowledge and sharing with others, just as when we were children, in order to reach wisdom.
