Meaning of Change in the Osho Zen Tarot

Card no. 10

This is a neutral card in the Osho tarot, in the sense that it only turns out positive or negative when it is combined with other cards during a cross spread. That does not make it any less an essential card on the spiritual journey begun by the Fool. It tells him that something is going to happen, but that all of it is indeed planned in advance, that it is written in his karma and that he can do nothing about it. It is the master card of destiny, which symbolises the passing of time and reveals to him that everything is an eternal new beginning.

The Change card recalls the Wheel of Fortune from the Tarot of Marseille, but on closer inspection it is far richer in spiritual and esoteric details. It therefore depicts a circle, or rather a wheel, that seems to be evolving within the universe. Endowed with somewhat psychedelic colours and inner geometries, this wheel displays the 12 signs of the zodiac around its rim. What is more, at its centre, lit up by the Divine spirit, sits the symbol of the complementarity of Yin & Yang.

During a divinatory reading, the Change card therefore announces movement in the querent’s life. He must thus expect to move and to accept the consequences, which will be optimistic or not depending on the cards that accompany it.

❤️ The Change card in Love ❤️

You are in a relationship

If this card were to come up during your reading, it would announce a sudden change of situation ahead within your relationship. Without necessarily being negative, it will shake up the little habits you share with your partner.

But this radical change should suit you, since you have always preferred to live from day to day, making very few long-term plans. You are right, the card tells you: rely first on your ability to adapt to situations and do not worry too much about the future, since it will come anyway.

You are single

For you, this is the card of guaranteed life Change! Indeed, it will announce upheavals ahead in your destiny, which should be anything but trivial where love and affection are concerned. The wheel turns and thus signals to you that your hour has finally come. One can only hope that this card is not combined with Emptiness, for example, in which case this future encounter could turn into a fiasco.

🍏 The Change card in Health 🍏

In general, change is favourable to the querent, all the more so as the Osho tarot has only a few truly negative cards. So if your health were to change, it should only be for the better, such as the end of a long course of treatment.

🧘 Spiritual interpretation of the Change card 🧘

The wheel representing Change, or starting over, is very natural in the Buddhist philosophy of life. Those who practise it daily call it the Wheel of Time.

For them, life turns like a wheel: birth is always followed by death, and death always heralds a rebirth. It is an endless cycle of life.
