Meaning of the Mataora in the Gypsy Tarot
Card no. 8
As in every culture, the elders hold a paramount place among the Gypsies. And so one never hesitates to consult them as soon as something is wrong. But, unlike other peoples, it is above all to female experience that one turns. Thus, as soon as a problem arises, one relies on the Mataora, the woman who is the oldest in the family or in the whole clan, respected and regarded as the head of the tribe.
The Mataora is therefore a true matriarch, who has powers and authority over her people. She alone can indeed intervene in conflict cases, with the seriousness and the wisdom that everyone acknowledges in her. She who knows how to foretell the future through the cards is the guarantor of an exemplary justice, which is carried out as soon as she has spoken, bringing back peace and affection in all manner of quarrels.

❤️ Depiction of the Mataora ❤️
It is a woman of a certain age whom we are dealing with. Mature then, but still of very fine bearing, with her long hair still very black, her many pieces of jewellery in copper and gold, and her brightly coloured clothes in the colours of passion and of freedom.
Moreover, she wears a diadem of gold, a sign that she truly is the head of the clan. From her right hand hangs a scale of copper, a symbol of uprightness, of fairness and of justice, while she holds a heavy sword of metal in her left hand, proof that she is highly capable of enforcing order within her tribe.
Here, the Mataora is shown to us in profile, seated on a throne, at her feet lie scattered several symbolic objects. There one finds a pot of salt, meant to represent knowledge, another filled with flames, which speaks to us of lofty inspiration, and 7 coins of gold, which express wisdom and open-mindedness.
🙂 Meaning of the Mataora upright 🙂
You are going to find yourself favoured by a court decision that is going to be favourable to you. It is good news that is going to allow you to claim at last in full your rights. It is therefore also a success for you on a financial level.
You will experience a rebalancing of the balance of your accounts, somewhat in the red these past times. From an emotional point of view, the card reveals to you that it would be more prudent to ask for advice around you before committing yourself to important decisions which will in no way be reversible. Thus, thanks to the opinions received, you will know how to make the best choices that are called for, for you and for your partner in love.
🙃 Meaning of the Mataora reversed 🙃
You have made many mistakes in the past, and you are currently accused of fraud, which leads you today before the courts of justice. Suffice it to say that your investments are at a loss and that your activities will therefore never have the hoped-for success.
Unfortunately for you, it will hardly be more cheerful when you come home, for you are facing serious relationship problems which are not going to sort themselves out with time. You are therefore caught between professional worries and family problems. The best thing for you is to wait patiently for the big black cloud circling around you to go and look elsewhere.
